Petra: The Treasury

Petra is one of the wonders of the world. The Treasury is the iconic image of Petra; it’s the first building that visitors see when they exit from the Siq—the natural canyon that serves as the main entrance to the site. We visited as part of a group, so we weren’t in control of the timetable, which meant that we were inside Petra during the middle of the day—from about 10:00 to 16:30—so the strong light wasn’t ideal for taking pictures. Nevertheless, the amazing colours in the sandstone could be revealed by using angles and shadow.
