My Clerihew
A little while ago, I signed up with Patreon to support the work of the creator of the excellent Jesus & Mo cartoon strip. Part of the reward for this support was the promise of a personal clerihew, which was just delivered:

The author did acknowledge that this was probably not his best work: “So, yeah. Sorry about that!”. It’s just as well that the expectation of my clerihew was not a factor in my decision to support the author. Anyway here’s the latest cartoon:

Fans of the comedy, The Big Bang Theory, will probably know that producer Chuck Lorre includes a vanity card during the credits at the end of every episode. They’re usually too long to read without pausing the video; sometimes I do, sometimes I don’t. This time I did. I wish this Pearls Before Swine observation was not quite so on target.
This is a two part post. The second part was written several weeks after the first. They describe my attempt to get video playback of iTunes movies and TV programmes using a wireless hard disk.
I wrote about the Seagate Wireless Plus just over a year ago. Since then I’ve used it occasionally, and on the whole, it has performed well. Problems of dropped connections and occasional flakiness seem to have been fixed by various firmware and software upgrades… Until IOS 8, which has somehow interfered with the playback of DRM content from iTunes. The selection of a film or TV programme from within the media manager correctly opens Safari for playback, but loading never completes and the movie never plays.
I’m travelling for a while only limited access to slow, but expensive wifi. So here’s another from the Jesus and Mo archives.

I must confess that I didn’t understand all the maths in this post, but it made me laugh anyway.
